Special Status for Lagos My Senate Agenda -Sanni-Eshilokun

Last week, Rt. Hon Deputy Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, called me on phone, but I missed his call, he then chatted me up on WhatsApp to appreciate my efforts so far. I discussed with him as the election campaigns are kicking off and politicians are ready to sell their candidacy to the electorates.
I asked him, “sir, what products are you selling to the people as electioneering draws near? He responded that politicians are either telling what they have done, what they can do, or what they will do. But Sanni-Eshilokun said I have nothing to sell than to push for a special status for Lagos State come 2023 if elected as Lagos central senatorial district representative.
To start with, it is good to ask questions, and get answers to form an opinion. In this position, several attempts and efforts have been made by the Lagos State government, the Lagos State house of assembly, political commentators, analysts and current occupier of Lagos central seat, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on the subject matter.
This position for “special status” for Lagos State therefore needs a level-headed and serious-minded person like Sanni-Eshilokun, who is not a political jobber but rather a realized thoroughbred politician, quintessential and veteran legislator with great passion for the development of Lagos.
A man who understands legislative business and act of politics of the game in floor of the Lagos State house of assembly, Sanni-Eshilokun described such status as a special priority worth, continue to fight for and lobbied for. “My presence at the Red Chamber will give voice to this, if elected”, he reassures.
The position of this, derive to serve, “Developing Lagos, Developing Nigeria” because it is a conglomeration of every tribes. It is a city-state that mirrors Nigeria. A special status for Lagos will be a great mark of modern Nigeria having satisfied the conditions upon which the country should constitutionally cognise its special place, Sanni-Eshilokun opined.
With this engaging time, the deputy speaker impressed me. He is a scholar in area of National Question with capacity, knowledge nursed dream, and exposure to a legislative luminary of thirteen years. I have no iota of doubt that when elected as Senator to represent our good people of Lagos Central Senatorial District, he will influence human capital development, more physical infrastructures, set up tech hub that prioritizes young entrepreneur, /vocational skills in Information Communication Technology (ICT); Information Programmers, Block Chain, Coding, Robotics, Web Design and Animation that will enhance economic growth of young generation with a bill of oriented policies to the people.
Let’s work for Sanni-Eshilokun, a credible, mobile legislator, outstanding loyal party man to realise his long nursed-dream to the Red Chamber as his victory will facilitate federal presence. This is a man with passion for education. While listening to his speech when addressing the beneficiaries of free GCE forms presentation, he said, don’t judge other aspirants coming after me by my track records, judge them on their ability to perform well.
I thereby urge the party leaders, stewarts, party faithful, members of the public and youth to give formidable support to this man, all directions of votes should be for WES 2023 Red Chamber as driven by your interests is for him.
