The Lagos State House of Assembly committee on Information Security and Strategy has commended the Management of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency for its efforts at ensuring a safer and more secured Lagos State.
Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Security and Strategy, Hon. David Setonji commended the Agency for the relative peace and security enjoyed by residents of Lagos State. He said the State has been more peaceful than most of its counterparts in spite of its urban nature and the preponderance of metropolis across its landscape, which is often a recipe for crimes and criminalities.
Hon. Setonji commended the Speaker Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa over his support for the Bill that established the Agency and said he was shocked by the much that has been achieved by the Agency in such a short while. He further said, he will encourage other members of the LAHA to visit the Agency to see for themselves what has been achieved under the current management.
He also concluded with a promise to give everything concerning the Agency top priority henceforth. In his words, “we have seen the fantastic job you guys are doing here and you can be sure that we will be there to give you maximum parliamentary support whenever the need arises.”
Hon. Ganiu Sanni Okanlawon aka Oklar while commending the General Manager, Prince Dr Ifalade Oyekan described him as a creative Manager of resources and men which has shown in the new features noticed in the Agency and its Officers across the State.
Oklar said, “Mr. Governor’s vision has always been on point and the appointment of Dr Ifalade is another pointer to this fact”. He further said “all the good things I have heard about the Agency and its General Manager has been reinforced on this visit”.
While conducting the Committee members through the Agency’s facilities, Prince Oyekan said the visit is timely as the Agency prepares to create the structures for the newly established Units of the Agency.
Ifalade said the Units created following Mr. Governor’s Mandate to rebrand the Agency towards providing professional services to the people of Lagos State will require the understanding and support of the Lagos State House of Assembly, especially the House Committee on Information, Security and Strategy towards attaining the new vision.
He thanked the House Committee members for their support in the past while hoping the Agency will even enjoy a deeper understanding and support of the Committee following the visit.
