Eko Bridge Closure: Lagos Island LASPGM chairmen assure LASTMA on traffic flow in Apongbon Lagos.

The Chairmen Lagos Island, Lagos State parks and garages management, (LASPGM) have assured Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on traffic flow in Apongbon and its environs following the partial closure of the Eko Bridge to motorists by the Federal Government on Sunday.


They made this known When the LASTMA, General Manager , Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, who led his team on a working visit to Eko Bridge, Apongbon Lagos on Monday, said, LASPGM traffic team will be deployed to all the strategic areas to ensure ease of movement from Lagos Island to Apongbo.

Comrade Hakeem Agboola, (Okoro) Chairman LASPGM,Lagos Island branch C, said LASPGM team will unanimously give the LASTMA maximum support for proper monitor of traffic control from Tinubu Square, Idumota, Martins Street, Balogun, Apongbon, Broad Street and Nnamdi Azikiwe Street around Lagos Island.

His counterparts, Lagos Island branch D’ Comrade, Adekunle Lawal, aka KunlePoly added that LASPGM members ready for full support to ensure that there is no traffic hindrance in Apongbon and Lagos lsland.

He said: Apongbon bridge under reconstruction as this impede the free flow of traffic and Eko bridge also closed down but LASPGM team will know how to address and manage the commercial drivers to avoid unnecessary traffic gridlock.

Commenting, Comrade Idowu Johnson aka Bintinlaye, LASPGM branch E’ chairman, Lagos Island, emphasised that our team will work with all stakeholders in monitoring illegal parking and loading on the major roads in the major route of Lagos Island.

He promised, they will look into prone traffic gridlocks, especially from Eyin Eyo and Idumota bridge.

The operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) visited Apongbon and its environs as part of efforts to ensure the free flow of traffic around Apongbon axis of Lagos Island.
